South Pasadena started their game strong on Tuesday, March 4, but El Rancho overtook the team in the seventh inning, resulting in a loss.
The SPHS varsity track and field team put on an impressive display at the Rio Hondo/Pacific League Challenge on Saturday, March 1. Competing against several other schools, the team showcased their speed, endurance, and strength across numerous events.
Multiple Tiger athletes finished top 10 at the distance-only meet.
All five winter sports, led by senior captains, qualified for CIF Southern Section playoffs. Girls’ basketball, boys’ basketball, and boys’ soccer placed first in the Rio Hondo League, and girls’ soccer and girls’ water polo placed third.

Mark Keppel eliminated basketball from the playoffs last season. This year, instead of a rematch, South Pasadena was knocked out of the playoffs by Mark Keppel for the second consecutive year. Keppel went on to win the playoffs.
The Tigers’ offense and sharp passing secured a dominant 77-48 win over Moorpark.
