Staff 2024–25

Managing Editors

Linda Yun
In her third and final year, senior Linda Yun (she/her) is psyched to continue Tiger’s legacy of award-winning journalism as Editor-in-Chief. With a shift from enforcing deadlines, she is likely curating mood-specific playlists or perfecting her tiramisu recipe. Linda is jazzed by the talents of everyone on staff and cannot wait to help bring Tiger to new, exciting places.
Benjamin Regan
Senior Benjamin Regan (he/him) has been on Tiger since before the Tokyo Olympics, let alone the Paris Olympics. This is his fourth year on the newspaper, and he looks forward to serving as Tiger’s Print Managing Editor, looking to leave behind a legacy of quality and dependable journalism. 
Clementine Evans
Junior Clementine Evans (she/her) is thrilled to kick off her third year on Tiger as Online Managing Editor. Although she can usually be found napping on the beanbag in the Tiger room, she also loves traveling to new worlds through her books and watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Bachelorette whenever she can.

Section Editors

Claire Mao
Sophomore Claire Mao (she/her) is excited to spend her second year on the newspaper as News Editor. She is happy to return to Tiger after a summer of traveling. When she is not traveling, you will find her studying for AP Chemistry.
Morgan Sun
Senior Morgan Sun (she/they) is delighted to return to Tiger for their third and final year as Feature Editor. When she’s not scurrying to finish last minute work, she can be found browsing various fandoms or ghosting her poor friends.
Sonya Shimpock
Junior Sonya Shimpock (she/her) is thrilled to return for her second year on Tiger as Opinion Editor. When she’s not watching The Great British Baking Show, she’s probably trying to justify spending $14 on a drink and one (1) pastry at Jones.
Zoe Chen
Sophomore Zoe Chen (she/her) is happy to be both Sports Editor and a staff photographer for her second year on staff, during which she will possibly spend more time playing NYT games than working.

Copy Editors

Ethan Kwak
Junior Ethan Kwak (he/him) is excited for his third year on Tiger as a copy editor and is especially delighted to get to know everybody on staff. In his free time, he writes poetry and plays guitar.
Solana Singer
Junior Solana Singer (she/they) is jazzed to return as a copy editor for her second year on Tiger, during which she plans to fend off crippling junioritis with a liberal amount of shoegaze.

Design Editors

Isole Kim
Senior Isole Kim (she/her) is thrilled for her fourth and final year on Tiger as Design Editor. She can’t wait to see all the new talent.
Olivia Chin
Junior Olivia Chin (she/her) is returning for her second year on Tiger as Design Editor. She is looking forward to meeting new friends and helping uphold the special quality of the publication.

Photography Editor

Emiko Essmiller
As her third year on Tiger begins, junior Emiko Essmiller (she/her) is ready to face the perils of multiple AP tests and embrace her role as Photo Editor. In the short periods between school and photography, she spends her time watching Netflix, eating popcorn, and being scared of people in general.

Staff Writers

Christianne Duley
Senior Christianne Duley (she/her) gladly joins Tiger as a first year staff writer. Ready to cover the unique stories of South Pasadena, she is thrilled to contribute to the renowned newspaper. When she is not preparing for college applications, Christianne can be found watching the hottest new movie with a bag of Takis.
Evelyn Diaz
Junior Evelyn Diaz (she/her) is highly thrilled to begin her first year as a staff writer on Tiger. If she isn’t sipping her matcha, you can find her scrolling on Pinterest or enjoying a kombucha or sushi. You can even catch her at the softball field.
Gavin Bartolome
Freshman Gavin Bartolome (he/him) is enthralled to be a part of Tiger as a staff writer. When not occupied trying to remember where he left his pencil, he can be found walking around town, sketching whatever pops in front of his face, or sleeping both the day and night away.
Isabella Jonassen
Freshman Isabella Jonasen (she/her) is beyond excited to be a staff writer her freshman year. When she’s not buying copious amounts of eyeliner, she’s writing  about the importance of lyricism. With her love of the process of writing and all forms of art, she is more than thrilled to be writing for Tiger her first year of high school.
Owen Hou
Freshman Owen Hou (he/him) is incredibly excited to join Tiger as a staff writer. When he’s not drinking milk tea, he plays baseball and badminton. He also has a dog named Franklin.
Rafa Estolano-Sridharan
Sophomore Rafa Estolano-Sridharan (he/him) is happy to join Tiger for his first year as a staff writer. If he isn’t talking about his most recent internet rabbit hole, you can find him mindlessly scrolling through Netflix trying to find something he hasn’t already seen.
Ruby Foudy
Freshman Ruby Foudy (she/her) is enthusiastic to become one of Tiger’s staff writers.When not burning down her kitchen due to a failed baking attempt, she can be found volunteering at a cat shelter, collecting stray cats, or petting her cat (she likes cats).
Trisha Chakraborty
Senior Trisha Chakraborty (she/her) is extremely excited to join Tiger for her first (and final) year as a staff writer. When she’s not searching for the NYT Spelling Bee pangram, you can most likely find her fawning over adorable otter pictures.

Staff Photographers

Kaitlyn Lee
Senior Kaitlyn Lee (she/her) is exhilarated to start her second and final year as a staff photographer on Tiger. When she’s not busy (already) having intense senioritis, you can find her taking naps and fawning over cute cats online.
Mac Shropshire
Sophomore Mac Shropshire (he/him) is thrilled to join Tiger as a staff photographer. He loves to take photos and is excited to have them in the newspaper. So give him a break if you find him blocking your view at an assembly.
Madeline Madrigal
Senior Madeline Madrigal (she/her) looks forward to finishing off her high school years by joining Tiger as a staff photographer. Photography has been one of her life passions, and she is eager to see her work represented in the newspaper. When she is not taking photos, you can find her watching movies with really sad endings.
Sunny Choi
Sophomore Sunny Choi (she/her) is excited to return for her second year on Tiger as a staff photographer and illustrator. When she’s not sending you Instagram reels, you can find her binging shows for ten year olds.

Staff Illustrators

Diana Lopez
Junior Diana Lopez (she/her) is ecstatic to be joining Tiger as an illustrator. You’ll often find her pursuing many new creative endeavors, only to forget about them later. When she’s not drawing, she might be creating yet another playlist on Spotify (stan P1Harmony) or planning to go to another concert she probably doesn’t have the money for.
Lanah Kim
Starting her first year of high school and Tiger, freshman Lanah Kim (she/her) eagerly awaits all the new peers she’ll be able to meet throughout her years of illustrating for Tiger. Once the 13 new projects she’s created in the span of one day finally catch up to her, she likes to take creative breaks by playing sports, video games, or feeding into her latest fixation.
Nathan Friezer
Senior Nathan Friezer (he/him) finishes his last year of high school with his first year on Tiger as a staff illustrator. A die-hard fan of superheroes and comic books, he has been inspired to hone his artistic ability and apply it wherever he can. He is extremely excited to demonstrate what he can do for the newspaper and hopes to bring his fellow writers’ stories to life.

Page Designer

Hana Oberlander
Senior Hana Oberlander (she/her) is delighted to join Tiger for the first and last time as a page designer. When she’s not busy scrolling through Instagram reels, you can find her spending unjustifiable amounts of money on blind boxes and stressing over AP Calc.

Business and Ads Managers

Cayna Ghaly
Junior Cayna Ghaly (she/her) is excited to take on her first year of Tiger as Business and Ads Manager. When she is not in school or on the tennis court, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, going on runs or long walks, and eating Trader Joe’s snacks.
Chloe Luong
Senior Chloe Luong (she/her) is thrilled to tackle her first year of Tiger in the Business and Ads department. When she isn’t at school, she is likely grabbing coffee or matcha with friends or doing random art projects.

Staff Videographer

Helena Easterby
Junior Helena Easterby (she/her) is enthusiastic for her first year on Tiger as a videographer. When she’s not filming something with her friends, you can find her searching up “words you need to know to sound smart.”
