Staff 2021-2022

Managing Editors

Senior Noah Kuhn (he/him) looks to continue Tiger’s legacy of award-winning journalism as Editor-in-Chief. He plans to make the most of his third and final year in the publication by helping it grow to exciting, new places and making friends with all its incredible staff members.
Senior Amber Chen (she/her) is super pumped to spend her third and final year on Tiger as Online Managing Editor. 
Senior Quinn Manzo (she/her) is wildly excited to spend her second and final year of Tiger as Print Managing Editor. She hopes to encourage boldness and open expression and help each staff member pursue their personal best.

Section Editors

After a year in Tiger’s staff writer gulags, junior Sam Grotenstein (he/him) is thrilled to finally be out as this year’s Opinion Editor. He is very excited to be in charge of the most pretentious and least read section of Tiger.
After spending much of her first year on Tiger expressing her love for movies and art, senior Georgia Parsons (she/her) is so excited to share the platform that grew her love for writing with new staff writers as Feature Editor.
Senior Sofia Alva (she/her) is excited for her third and final year on staff as News Editor. She is looking forward to spending the year covering community events and working with the new and old staff.
For her third and final year on staff, senior Zoe Schlaak (she/her) hopes to pump out as many game coverages as possible in her role as this year’s Sports Editor.
 
 

Design Editors

Senior big boi Terry Song (she/her) is ready to be a Design Editor and edit things… but in Indesign. Terry absolutely adores Indesign and it’s her favorite thing in the entire universe. In her free time, Tarry watches sussy Indesign tutorial videos alone in the dark with the curtains closed. Terry owns numerous body pillows of Indesign symbols.
Senior Charlotte Cohen (she/her) cannot wait to be a Design Editor in her third and final year on Tiger. She is excited to work with all the new and old staff, and (hopefully) finally get the hang of Indesign.
 

Photography Editor

Senior Sophie Yeung (she/her) is so pumped entering into her third and final year of Tiger as the Photo Editor. She can’t wait to make the most out of her last year of Tiger taking awesome photos and bonding with the new staff and old friends.
 
 

Copy Editors

Senior Cloe Maurer (she/her) is excited to end her three super rewarding years on Tiger as a Copy Editor.
Senior and third year staff member Ellie Campbell (she/her) is ready to serve the South Pasadena community as a Copy Editor for Tiger.
 

Staff Writers

Sophomore Raluca Tudusciuc (she/her) is excited to begin her first year at Tiger as a staff writer. When she’s not busy writing, Raluca enjoys reading, music, and spending time with her rabbit and dog.
Sophomore Charlotte Dekle (she/her) is thrilled to combine her passions of aggressively typing on her computer and having excessive knowledge of niche topics in her first year on Tiger as a staff writer.
Sophomore Elsie Waters (she/her) is looking forward to her first year on Tiger as a staff writer. When not writing, Elsie spends too much time cultivating her ideal playlists on Spotify and reading dystopian novels.
Freshman staff writer Benjamin Regan (he/him) is excited for his first year on Tiger. When he’s not writing, he’s playing baseball, watching baseball, or reading about baseball.
Sophomore staff writer Hanna Bae (she/her) is beyond thrilled to start her first year on Tiger. With a shift from hibernating in her room, she’s looking forward to spending time away from Spotify.
Junior Alison Wang (she/her) is excited to join Tiger for her first year as a staff writer. Besides stressing over school, she enjoys eating ramen and purchasing cute items.
Junior Kahlen Miao (she/they) is thrilled to be on their second year as a Tiger staff writer. When not having a nervous breakdown about article deadlines, they can be found trying to catch up on lost hours of sleep and procrastinating on every possible thing.
Senior Lexie Doig (she/her) can’t wait to start her first year as a staff writer for Tiger. When she’s not writing, she can be found binging a new series (either books or television), baking, or playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends. She hopes to chronicle these exciting times for SPHS students.
Junior Michael Mayemura (he/him) is thrilled to start his first year on Tiger as a staff writer and discover all South Pas has to offer. Outside of Tiger, Michael loves to travel, listen to music, and hang with friends.
Sophomore Anayah Mehdi (she/her) is ecstatic to be joining Tiger as a staff writer. In her free time, she enjoys baking and spending time with family. She’s looking forward to starting off her first year of Tiger strong and hopes her articles are impactful.  
 

Photographers

Sophomore Dani Rodriguez (they/them) is enthusiastic about joining Tiger as a photographer for the first time.
Senior Erin Lee (she/her) is super stoked about beginning her first year on Tiger as a photographer. Outside of photography, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with her friends.
Senior Sarah Lee (she/her) is thrilled to return for her third and final year on Tiger as a staff photographer.  Outside of Tiger, Sarah can be found painting, drawing, or spending time with her friends.
Sophomore Michelle Shadmon (she/her) is very enthusiastic to spend her first year on Tiger as a staff photographer. She loves to listen to music and take pictures of everything around her.
Sophomore Samantha Shiroishi (she/her) is excited to start her first year on Tiger as a photographer. When she is not taking pictures, Samantha uses her free time to bake various types of bread.
 

Graphic Designer/Illustrators

Freshman Ethan Lyons (he/him) is excited for his first year on Tiger as a staff illustrator. When he is not illustrating you can find him doing his best to survive freshman year of high school or playing baseball.
Freshman Martin Walsh (he/him) is excited to join the team as a staff illustrator. His hobbies include skydiving, bull fighting, and lying about his hobbies.
Freshman Isole Kim (she/her) is hyped to start her first year on Tiger as staff illustrator. Outside of drawing, you’ll find her listening to indie rock and going on long car rides. She comes into this experience with hopes to improve her skill, praying that creative art block won’t catch up to her.
Junior Allison Lee (she/her) is excited to begin her first year on Tiger as a staff illustrator. She hopes to spread positivity and impactful stories through her own personal style of doodling.
Senior Penny Aboud (she/her), a graphic designer, is looking forward to an explosive first year on Tiger.
 

Webmaster and Videographer

Senior Lilian Zhu (she/her) is excited to spend her third and final year of Tiger as the Web Coordinator instead of under the terror of the editors when she was a staffwriter. When not web-coordinating, she can be found most likely running, doing math, or scavaging the Goodwill bins. 
Sophomore Anika Ebbert (she/her) is thrilled to begin her first year as the Ads Manager for Tiger.  When she’s not having backpacking failures, you can find her making lists, planning a non-existent trip, or perfecting a useless skill.
