Shorthanded badminton team falls to San Marino

Badminton endured its second loss of the season in its away game against San Marino on Friday, Apr. 12. The team was overpowered by the Titans due to the absence of a number of the team’s key players, resulting in a 12-9 loss. The team’s league record now stands at 6-2.

Mixed doubles team juniors Charles Liu and Emily Choi won by slim margins in their first match, and later earned their second win via forfeit. Senior Steven Wu and junior Joan Choi scored another win for the Tigers in their mixed doubles match. Both Emily and Joan Choi kept their momentum in their singles matches as well, and tallied another three points for the team.

Boys’ doubles players, senior Kevin Xu, Wu, Liu, and freshman Chris Liu, accumulated three more wins for the Tigers by showcasing their expertise and teamwork.

South Pas continue to look forward and train for their second league matchup against Arcadia, which will take place at home on Monday, Apr. 15.
