Girls’ tennis conquers Blair 18-0

Girls’ tennis demolished Blair in a league match on Thursday, Oct. 10. The match occurred at home, and the Tigers knocked out the Vikings 18-0.

Senior Gwendolyn Culbert played singles one and won each set 6-0 for South Pasadena. Junior Joie Chen played singles two and won all of her sets 6-0. Freshman Elise Chan played singles three and similarly swept all of her sets 6-0.

Senior Claire Chen and freshman Felicity Mason played the first doubles one set for this match. Junior Maya Oniciuc and freshman Karissa Oniciuc played the second and third doubles one sets, winning 6-0. Junior Mailani Ramos-Platt and sophomore Jaiya Zafra played doubles two, winning 6-0. Juniors Helena Gispert and Kayla Leung played doubles three and swept all their sets.

South Pasadena will next face the La Cañada Spartans away on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 3:30 p.m.
