Girls’ golf conquers Gabrelino to even season series

The varsity girls’ golf team came on top with a close 210-229 win in its rematch game against Gabrielino High School on Tuesday, October 13. The Tigers extend their winning streak to four games. South Pas now stand at an 8-1 overall record and a 6-1 league record.

Co-captain Caitlyn Yamashita led her pack on the scoreboard with a score of 35. Sophomores Bethany Chen and Nicole Srisutham finished with scores of 40 and 43, respectively. Co-captain senior Christine Abbott followed up with a final score of 45. Junior Emily Swanson finished the course with a score of 47.

“We look really strong going into league prelims and I think that we will qualify most of our players into individual league finals. I am glad that we continue to demonstrate our hard work and persistence,” Abbott said.
The Tigers will face off against Webb High School in its final league game and in hopes to enter League Preliminaries with a record of 7-1.
