The Tigers outplayed the San Marino Titans on Tuesday, May 4 in three sets. South Pas continued its league dominance, extending its winning streak to 5-0.

The Tigers started off with a strong first set, taking advantage of the Titans’ various errors. Junior Tony Rodz boasted several powerful serves throughout the set, aiding the Tigers in their dominance over the Titans. Senior captain and libero Colin Sheng gained numerous points with his quick saves and sets. The Tigers maintained a consistent lead throughout the first set and beat the Titans 25-14.

In the second set, South Pas showcased their teamwork skills as they continued to overpower San Marino. Senior Ryan Tse and sophomore Aidan Hilger consistently made great spikes, keeping the rallies going throughout the set. Junior Michael Favela secured the South Pas’ lead defensively, blocking San Marino balls at the net. South Pas won the set 25-18 when a San Marino serve went out.

In the third and final set, South Pas kept their composure, swiftly defeating the Titans. Junior Thompson Crockett and sophomore Declan Swift took control of the Tiger’s defense, aggressively blocking incoming balls. Senior Dustin Huang’s quick dives kept  the ball in play and also  contributed to the South Pas win. San Marino continuously failed to return Tiger spikes and serves, allowing the South Pas score to climb. In the end, South Pas won the set 25-18 when senior Nolan Call tipped the ball over the net too quickly for the Titans to respond.

South Pas hopes to continue their winning streak when they play Monrovia at home on Thursday, May 6.
