Tiger Picks: the Super Bowl

New England (-2.5) vs. Los Angeles

Preston Sharkey: Although every Super Bowl Tom Brady has played in has been decided by one possession, I predict the Patriots will control the game from the opening snap. The bright lights of the super bowl will be too much for Jared Goff to handle early in the game, and the highly touted Rams defense will have no answer for the Patriots’ short passing game. The Rams will eventually settle in and mount a comeback in the second half, but the Patriots will hold on for a comfortable win.
Prediction: Patriots 34 Rams 24

Noah Parker: The Rams will get off to a quick start behind Goff and Anderson and ride the momentum to a Super Bowl win. Tom Brady will suffer just his fourth loss in nine Super Bowl appearances, but will not return to the big game for the rest of his career.
Rams 35 Patriots 24

Matthew Tsai: Sean McVay is a fantastic coach and will prove it in the Super Bowl. McVay will confuse the Patriot defense, running so many different plays out of the same formation. Todd Gurley will struggle, but CJ Anderson’s great play will continue. Ndamukong Suh and Aaron Donald will lead a lethal pass rush, bothering Tom Brady just enough to give the Rams the victory.
Rams 31 Patriots 24

Super Bowl MVP

Sharkey: Tom Brady proves age is just a number, winning his fifth Super Bowl MVP.
Patriots QB Tom Brady

Parker: Gurley and Anderson both have monster days, but the platoon backfield prevents either from taking home the award. Defensive end Aaron Donald will take home the hardware after a mutli-sack performance.
Rams DT Aaron Donald

Tsai: For years, the Patriots’ defense has embraced the ‘bend but don’t break’ mindset. This year, it will fail, as Rams running back CJ Anderson will tear up the Patriots’ front seven. With Gurley’s health in question, Anderson will receive many carries and lead the Rams to their second Super Bowl victory.

A common sight in national commercials, South Pasadena has a shot at being featured in multiple ads on Super Bowl Sunday.

Number of total touchdowns versus A’s on Ms. Moon’s next BC test

With two of the best offenses in the league in the Superbowl, and differential equations coming up in Ms. Moon’s class, total touchdowns looks to be the heavy favorite.
Staff Prediction: Total Touchdowns
