The boys were able to claim several top spots despite having an unfavorable final outcome. Senior William Lau took first in the 200 Freestyle, and freshman Jaden Mullin followed close behind with a second place finish. Lau would improve upon this performance by placing first in the 100 Freestyle. Junior Alexandre Sannibale claimed first in the 200 Individual Medley, making him the only Tiger swimmer to finish in the top three. In the 50 freestyle, senior Aaron Ogita garnered the fastest time for South Pas, which was enough to earn second place. Ogita’s most notable performance was in the 100 Breaststroke, in which he was able to give South Pas much-needed points with a first place finish. Junior Jacob Mullin had the fastest times in both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke.

South Pas did not fare as well in relay competitions, as the boys were unable to take first in any of the races. Seniors Kyle Kan, Albert Bai, Christopher Chan, and Kevin Sy managed a convincing second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. Also, senior Harry Kim, Sannibale, and Kan earned second in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Freshman Evan Yerian, Lau, Kim, and Mullin placed second in the final relay, which was the 400 Freestyle.

The Tigers had many notable performances in the girls’ competitions. Senior Laura Mendenhall took first in the 200 Freestyle, and junior Kelsey Sedgwick earned second. Senior Jocelyn Jo’s strong performance in the 200 Individual Medley was enough to give her first place. Mendenhall also took first in the 500 Freestyle. Jo would round out the Tiger’s individual first place finishes with a fast time in the 100 Breaststroke.

Junior Janica Crisostomo, sophomore Eileen Zenas, Jo, and Mendenhall combined to finish first in the 200 Medley Relay. Senior Isabelle Edens, Kyra Angkasa, Sedgwick, and Zenas took first in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Jo, Mendenhall, Sedgwick, and Edens earned second place in the final relay competition of the 400 Freestyle.

As the season draws to a close, the Tigers will face off against San Marino on Tuesday, April 19 at home.
