SPUSD announced it will extend its school closure until Tuesday, May 5, on Friday, Mar. 20. The district is acting in response to the Los Angeles County Office of Education’s recommendation concerning the coronavirus pandemic and expects a Monday, May 4, return date for employees before students come back the following day.

Teachers will prepare for the SPUSD Independent Study Distance Learning Program (ISDLP), which will launch its online curriculum Monday, Apr. 6, and last through Monday, May 4. The district will release another ISDLP update, including information on technology availability for students in need, the week of Monday, Mar. 23.

Food services for students will continue through Friday, Apr. 10, with the exception of the original spring break dates (Mar. 30 to Apr. 3). The district will decide the meal program’s status beyond Apr. 10 on a later date.

All SPHS athletic practices and competitions will be placed on hold until school resumes.
