SPHS welcomes new computer science teacher Jared Guiou

SPUSD announced that Mr. Jared Guiou will begin teaching Math 2+, Math 3+, and AP Computer Science Wednesday, August 15. Guiou will be teaching alongside current computer science teacher Garrett Shorr for the coming 2019-2020 year. 

Guiou grew up in Chino Hills and was named a National Merit Scholar before attending Arizona State University on a full-tuition scholarship. After studying abroad in Hong Kong and Taiwan, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a minor in Asian Languages. He earned his Master of Arts in Teaching from UC Irvine. 

Guiou has also with several mathematical professionals at UC Irvine that currently work with the SPHS Mathematics Department.

“I’ve taught Integrated Math 3 and AP Computer Science before coming to SPHS,” Guiou said. “This year I’ll be teaching Math 2+, Math 3+, and AP Computer Science and I am really excited to join the Tiger family!”
