Seventeen-year old singer and songwriter London Richards performed his unique brand of R&B music on Monday, April 27, at the Tiger Patio during lunch.

Richards sang covers of songs like “So Sick” by Ne-Yo, “Thinkin’ Bout You” by Frank Ocean, and “Earned It” from the “Fifty Shades of Grey” soundtrack, followed by a number of original songs.

Richards grew up in London, England, but currently lives and works in Los Angeles. He began playing music at age 9 and released his first EP, “Love, London,” in 2014. Currently, he tours local high schools to promote his music.

“My manager and I decided that we wanted to bring some positive energy to schools in the L.A area, and I think this performance went really well,” Richards said after the show.

“It’s a change of pace from playing music everyday. He had an upbeat sound that helped start the week on a good note,” Commissioner of Noontime Raj Jain said. “His energy and enthusiasm kept up throughout the performance despite low crowd participation in the beginning.”
