The City of South Pasadena will close bars, dine-in restaurants, entertainment venues, and gyms to the public on Monday, Mar. 16 lasting until Mar. 31 due to L.A. County’s mandate to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Restaurants may continue to sell food for takeout and delivery and grocery stores will continue operation.

L.A. County announced its mandate to close all restaurants and entertainment on Mar. 16 as the nation listens to the CDC’s guidelines to enact local social distancing measures. The City of South Pasadena has also implemented its own social distancing measures as L.A. county confirmed the city’s first coronavirus case.

The City will also declare a “local emergency” at a special meeting on Wednesday, Mar. 18.
