Top swimmers from the boys and girls’ swim team impressed at League Finals on Friday, May 5 at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center.

As the team had hoped, senior Jacob Mullin broke a 25 year old school record in the 100 Freestyle at 46.25 seconds. Additionally, Mullin broke the RHL record when he won the 100 Butterfly with a time of 48.79 seconds and is now ranked second in the event in division two. To round out his accomplishments, Mullin is also ranked first in the 100 Backstroke.

Both the boys’ 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay qualified for CIF. Seniors Alexandre Sannibale, Mullin, as well as sophomore Jaden Mullin and junior Evan Yerian swam in both events.

Another standout of the day was sophomore Kyra Angkasa, who tied for second place in the 100 Breaststroke and had been listed as an alternate for CIF in the event.

“We worked really hard to improve our strokes and techniques which definitely paid off at league championships. Many people dropped a lot of time from the beginning of the season,” said Angkasa.

Those moving on to CIF will compete this Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20 at the Riverside Aquatics Complex.
