The girls’ varsity tennis team topped Westridge by a score of 11-7 at home on Thursday, September 15. The team now stands at 3-2 with one more game left in the preseason.

Doubles partners senior Anya Nicolaides and junior Molly Round swept all three sets with scores of 6-3, 6-1, and 6-3. The duo has yet to be defeated this year.

Singles player senior Ashley Huang cruised through her sets with scores of 6-1, 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Shannon Huang also displayed a dominant performance, easily winning all three of her sets.

The team is looking to tighten up their play as they head into the regular season.

“We need to do more drilling, develop more communication skills and have more practice matches with our partners” Nicolaides said.

The team will play the Alhambra Moors at home this Monday, September 19 in their last preseason matchup.
