Girls’ golf rallies to ninth straight victory against Rowland

The varsity girls’ golf team claimed their second win against Rowland High School with a score of 192-214, extending their league record to 9-0. This breaks the Tigers’ previous total stroke record of 198 which was set only three weeks ago.

Junior Bethany Chen shot a lean 31 strokes while freshman Victoria Tsyviti finished with a 38. Junior Nicole Srisutham and senior co-captain Caitlyn Yamashita each shot an impressive 40, with senior co-captain Emily Swanson close behind at 43. Freshman Lindsay Biggar shot a 46 and Senior Clara Wong contributed a 47.

“I’m so proud of everyone on our team for keeping a cool head and trying our best!” Chen said.

The girls next game is Monday, October 3 at home, Almansor Golf Course, against Webb High School. The girls beat Webb 231-335 in the their first match of the season. With nine victories already under their belt and a month of practice against other teams, the girls are looking forward to coming out on top once again.

“We are coming together as a team. If we stick together, we should come out on top,” Yamashita said.
