The girls golf team struggled to capture the win against Temple City, narrowly losing its second straight league match, 201-209, on Thursday, Oct. 17. The Tigers finished the Rio Hondo League with a 5-5 record.

Despite the loss, sophomore Lauren Calderon boasted a terrific score of 37. Senior Victoria Tskvitichvili shot for 40 strokes, while sophomore Maya Turun and junior Katherine Anthony both shot for 44. Rounding out the lineup, sophomores Cassy Huang and Audrey Biggar earned respective scores of 45 and 55.

“This year the team definitely improved. We shot some pretty low scores and all of the girls should be proud of themselves. We had some ups and downs, but we found a way to overcome them and have a great season,” Calderon said. “I think we are just happy to go to team CIF one last time with our senior, Victoria.”

The Tigers will participate at the RHL preliminaries on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
