The varsity girls’ golf team continues to dominate the Rio Hondo League. After losing their first league game in eight years on September 24 to Gabrielino, the girls racked up three straight wins to earn an overall record of 7-1 and league record of 5-1.

The team’s season has been excellent so far. The girls won both of the October games on the 8th against Alhambra and on the 1st against Azusa. Unfortunately, the game scheduled on October 5 against La Salle was cancelled due to the lack of players.

“We have a pretty strong team, maybe even better than last year,” junior Caitlyn Yamashita said. “I’ve seen a lot of improvement in the girls’ games. They are more focused when they play.”

The team looks to maintain its success, with league preliminaries creeping close. The Tigers have just two more league games. The first, against Gabrielino High School on October 13, offers South Pas an opportunity for revenge. The second is against Webb High School on October 15.
