The South Pasadena varsity girls’ golf team has won four straight with a successful 201-246 victory at home against the Alhambra Moors on Thursday, October 8.  With Thursday’s win, the squad has swept the season series against the Moors while increasing its overall record to 7-1 and league record to 5-1.

Tiger’s junior co-captain Caitlyn Yamashita swung the club exceptionally well and led her team with a score of 35. Junior Emily Swanson was right behind Yamashita, scoring an impressive 38 strokes to also beat her season high. Both Sophomores Nicole Srisutham and Bethany Chen finished the course with 42 strokes. Senior co-captain Christine Abbott capped the scoresheet with a final score of 44.

“I think that this match served as great practice since we’ve been hard at work preparing for our rematch with Gabrielino next week,” Abbott said. “All of us did really well today and I can’t wait to see how we’ll do at League Prelims.”
The girls will be on the road next Tuesday, October 13, against Gabrielino High School in hopes to defeat the only team that was able to win against the Tigers this season.
