Girls’ golf participated in the Orion Academy, formally the Walnut Tourney, hosted by the Walnut High School girls’ golf team on Monday, Aug. 31. The tournament consisted of about 18 teams and three divisions.

Sophomores Bella Vanichsombat and Delaney Wong, and senior Gaby Ho all had decent rounds with strokes of 80, 86, and 91. As for the team, South Pasadena High School took 456 strokes. South Pasadena played in the top division, but unfortunately finished toward the bottom.

“Honestly, I hit a lot of good shots, but it was just one hole where I really messed up. To be honest, it was a pretty tough course. But I’m pretty proud of my performance,” Vanichsombat said.

Although this tournament was rough for South Pasadena, Coach Robert Biggar expected a much better round on Thursday, Sept. 3 when they played Buckley.
