The boys volleyball team won third place in a weekend tournament at Adolfo Camarillo High School on Saturday, Feb. 29. Running for two days, the Tigers defeated Nordhoff before falling to Camarillo.

Tigers won 3-0 on Friday after quickly gaining momentum in the first set with a score of 25-12. The rest of the game proved to be more tightly contested, but South Pas took the win in three sets.

The team however stumbled in the Saturday match. In one close set, Camarillo emerged victorious after they scraped three more points than South Pas, ending the tournament 25-22.

“During this tournament, we have improved greatly together as a team, as we were able to compete with many other great schools and take the third-place win,” junior Dustin Huang said. “Everyone was working great together, and we all fought our hardest until the very end, and I’m really proud of how our team performed this weekend.”

The Tigers will resume their preseason play against Los Altos on Tuesday, Mar. 3.
