Boys’ Water Polo dominated against the Pasadena Bulldogs on Tuesday, Oct. 20, winning 14-6 after keeping a steady lead throughout the match.
Both teams scored during their first possession. Their skills seemed evenly matched, but that perspective quickly changed as the Tigers pulled ahead. Despite pressing on defense, the Bulldogs were unable to keep up with the Tigers. The score at the end of the first quarter was 5-1.
The stands were packed and passionate as Pasadena made efforts to lessen the gap in the score, managing to score two goals back-to-back. Yet, the Tigers’ sheer skill gap quickly nullified the prior goals, effortlessly rallying more goals to keep the lead. Seemingly disheartened, Pasadena began to give up on defense, allowing South Pasadena to score. The second quarter ended with a score of 9-4.
Supporters of the Bulldogs were certainly frustrated with the team’s lack of strength as the Tigers continued to dominate the game. The third quarter ended with a score of 12-5 while the fourth quarter ended with the final score of 14-6.
The Tigers’ next match is an away game against the Camarillo Scorpions on Thursday, Oct. 29.
