SPHS students win gold at SkillsUSA state competition

The South Pasadena SkillsUSA chapter took home four golds in the 52nd Annual State Leadership and Skill Conference Sunday, Apr. 28. Students competed in a variety of categories ranging from Carpentry to Computer Programming.

Four students were also elected to hold office in SkillsUSA next year. Alex Ha will be a national delegate, Alex Mariano and Ayush Pareek will represent California, and Micah Mekhitarian will serve as a regional officer.

Teams that won the gold qualify to compete in Kentucky at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference June 24-28.

American Spirit: Avrin Pasebani, Jeremy Park, Landon Ackerman

Outstanding Chapter: Molly Parker, Kimberly Hsueh, Alicia Zhang

Customer Service: Matthew Mayemura

Occupational Health and Safety Notebook Single: Derek Leung, Francisco Villegas, Timothy Chiu
