Sophomore Lauren Calderon wins second consecutive Rio Hondo League golf title

The girls golf team finished its second day of the Rio Hondo League finals at the Brookside Golf & Country Club on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Sophomore Lauren Calderon claimed her second consecutive RHL MVP award, while senior Victoria Tskvitichvili finished fifth; both will advance to CIF regionals.

On the par-71 course, Calderon shot for 77 strokes, bringing her two day total to 140. Tskvitichvili finished the course in 83 and ended with 153 total score. Sophomore Maya Turun qualified for the second round of prelims, but did not compete.

Calderon and Tskviticvhili will compete at the CIF regionals on Monday, Oct. 28.

“I am really happy I got to make top six of all league and I am excited for Monday,” Tskvitichvili said. “My goal is just to stay focused and do well on Monday as well”
