Softball blazes through CIF first round 11-1 in first playoff appearance since 2009

In their first CIF Southern Section playoff appearance in 15 years, softball dominated the visiting Archer School for Girls 11-1.

Seniors Natalie Kan and Jolene Wu led the team. Kan earned the win in the pitchers’ circle, allowing only one hit and one unearned run over six innings, including striking out five. Wu went 3-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.

The Tigers collected 15 hits total, including multiple hits by Kan, sophomore Talula Bearden, junior Raquel Dominguez, freshman Taelyn Adams and freshman Brooke Zeisler.

South Pasadena played their second round of playoffs on Saturday, May 17. The Tigers fell 2-1 to Cantwell Sacred Heart.
