The school board will have a special meeting on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 2:00 p.m. to publicly review the Teacher’s Association of South Pasadena’s (TASP) proposed instructional models for the upcoming school year.
School board president Dr. Michele Kipke informed the community of the special board meeting after students, parents, and teachers had petitioned for it in the past week. Teachers have expressed concern over the district’s adopted models and felt that their input had not been properly considered. Many middle and high school educators asked for a day of total asynchronous learning and raised questions over the logistics and practicality of the hybrid model.
Community members can submit public comments by 11:00 a.m. on Aug. 8 for the emergency board meeting.
