The South Pasadena’s Pep Squad rallied the students with a performance at lunch on Friday, May 1 in the Tiger Patio. This year’s rally was called the Crossover, a continuation of the annual event that first began years before any of the current SPHS students were born.
Friday’s pep rally was unique in that the members swapped roles among each of the squads. Pep comprises Varsity song, Varsity Yell, Varsity Flags, JV, and the mascots. All members were given the opportunity to perform as a part of another squad. Senior Alyssa Corona, originally on Varsity Yell, performed with Varsity Flags in this year’s Crossover.
“I loved it!” Corona said. “Crossover is always one of my favorite performances because there’s less stress while practicing, it’s more about having fun and going outside of your comfort zone and trying new things, which is always great.”
