The girls tennis team fell to Mark Keppel, 10-8, Friday, Oct. 25. The game dropped the Tigers below .500 to an 8-9 overall record.
Junior captain Carissa Park, singles one, won all three sets 6-0, but her teammates couldn’t match her success. Singles two, junior Olivia Reed, lost 6-3, 7-5, and 6-1, while doubles three sophomore Ava Feldman fell to Mark Keppel’s singles one, 6-1. Sophomore Sarah Uwabo filled in for the last two sets, but was unable to earn any victories either.
Junior Skylar Cornforth returned after missing two games to lead doubles team one to three wins. Cornforth and freshman Kyra Campbell coasted to 6-1, 6-0, and 6-0 victories. Doubles two, junior Kimberly Hsueh and sophomore Stephanie Li, added two more set wins, prevailing 6-2 and 6-1.
South Pas attempted to find a winning combination with the doubles three team, but were unsuccessful. Juniors Sienna Chen and Meagan Chang lost the first set 6-2. Senior Jessica Deng replaced Chang in the next set, but the Tigers ended with the same result. Deng and junior Lauren Galles competed in the last set, but ultimately fell 6-4.
The Tigers will play their final league game against La Cañada Monday, Oct. 28.
