The girls’ tennis team was defeated 14-4 by San Marino on the Titan’s home court on Thursday, October 6. This is the team’s third consecutive loss, putting their league record at 1-3 and their overall record at 4-6.

The team faced strong San Marino players, but sophomore Shannon Huang outplayed her opponents, winning two matches for the team. Doubles team sophomore Sheila Li and freshman Teryn Kum were losing their last game 0-5, but rallied to comeback and win in a 7-6 tiebreaker.

“I had a great game today, but we need to practice more seriously going forward” Huang said.

The team’s next game is at home, against the Monrovia Wildcats on Tuesday, October 11. The Tigers played Monrovia in the first game of the season and defeated them 18-0. The team expects this rematch to be no different than the last, and are hoping to grab their second win of the season.
