Girls’ golf wins eighth straight against Azusa

Once again, the varsity girls’ golf team collected another victory; this time it was 217-343 against Azusa High School this Tuesday, September 27. This away match at Azusa Greens Country Club extends the girls’ winning streak to 8-0.

Senior co-captain Caitlyn Yamashita and freshman Victoria Tsyviti lead the team with a 39 and a 41, respectively. Senior co-captain Emily Swanson followed with a 44 and junior Bethany Chen shot an impressive 45. Right behind her, junior Nicole Srisutham had a 48, while Senior Clara Wong shot a 51. Alterate freshman Lindsay Biggar managed 43 strokes.

“We had another great match and beat the Azusa Aztecs on their home course. I’m so proud of our team!” Yamashita said.

The girls’ next match is home at Almansor Golf Course on Thursday, September 29 against Rowland High School whom the girls narrowly beat in a close 248-249 match earlier this season.
