The varsity girls’ golf team trumped Azusa High School for the second time this season 204-277 this Thursday, October 13. This capped off a perfect 13-0 season for the girls and marked the last match for several senior players.

Junior Bethany Chen and senior co-captain Caitlyn Yamashida each lead their team with a 38. Close behind were freshman Victoria Tsyviti with a 41 and senior Clara Wong with a 42. Senior co-captain Emily Swanson and junior Nicole Srisutham followed suit with a 45 and a 46, respectively, while freshman Lindsay Biggar shot a 47.

The girls have created a powerhouse that has remained constant during their season and is not slowing down as the postseason approaches. Last year, the girls did not advance past round two in CIF prelims. However, with the foundation that the girls have built for themselves this year and several record breaking victories, the tigers are looking to advance even further in the playoffs.

“Today’s match was memorable for me because this was my last league game. However we still have prelims and team finals so hopefully we will represent South Pas well in the next few games.” Wong said.

League prelims will be Monday, October 17 at Marshall Canyon Golf Course in La Verne.
