The varsity girls’ golf team claimed yet another victory against Alhambra High School by 217-299 this Thursday, September 15. This improves upon the girls’ already impressive record, making it 6-0 in all. The Tigers were home at Almansor Golf Course.

Freshman Victoria Tsyviti led the tigers with an impressive 37 strokes. Senior co-captain Emily Swanson and senior Clara Wong were close behind with 44 strokes each. Juniors Nicole Srisutham and Bethany Chen had a 45 and a 47, respectively, while freshman Lindsey Biggar shot a 48.

This also marks the second game the girls have won in the absence of one of their co-captains, senior Caitlyn Yamashita who is currently competing in the Nature Valley First Tee Open golf tournament at Pebble Beach.

“I think we’ve done an excellent job playing, considering Caitlyn is gone. She is a great asset to our team, but we continue to win, despite her absence. This just shows how we don’t rely on a single player, we work as a team.” Swanson said.

The Tigers’ next match is home at Almansor Golf Course, on Tuesday, September 20 against the Gabrielino, to whom the girls had their only loss to last season.
