Girls golf remains undefeated in league with another victory against Gabrielino

SPHS girls golf team continued its winning streak in its match against Gabrielino High School on Thursday, April 22 at the Alhambra Golf Course. The team completed the course with a tight margin of 243-227, and are currently undefeated with a 2-0 record.

Juniors Lauren Calderon and Maya Turun both led with a score of 41 strokes. Juniors Cassy Huang and Audrey Biggar were not far behind, each completing the course with a score of 48. Senior Katherine Anthony followed with 49 strokes. Despite the gloomy overcast weather,the team maintained good morale. 

“It was so fun playing against Gabrelino at our home course,” Biggar said. “They put up a good fight, and despite the weather we were able to finish strong and take the win. [I’m] super proud of all the girls and can’t wait for our next match!”

The team will face Alhambra High School next week on Thursday, April 29 at Eaton Canyon Golf Course with hopes to remain undefeated.
