Juniors Caitlyn Yamashita, Emily Swanson, and sophomore Bethany Chen all participated in this year’s CIF Southern Section individual finals along with girls from all over South California at the River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard, CA on Monday, October 26.

Unfortunately, all three Tigers did not score below the cutoff of 78 and as a  result, they will not advance to the later rounds.  Co-captain Yamashita barely missed the cut with a score of 86 through 18 holes. Chen, a little shaked up by the water hazards. finished the course with a score of 98. Swanson played well, but also missed the cut.

“I’m not disappointed; I played well, but didn’t score well. The hardest thing about this course is visibility,” Chen said. “Team CIF will be a great learning experience for all of us. I’m not really nervous, since we’ve got a solid team and a great coach.”

The entire team will participate in Team CIF at Los Serranos golf course in Chino Hills on November 2 and will be representing the Monteview League.
