Girls golf drops final preseason match to Walnut

The girls’ golf team suffered another defeat against Walnut on Thursday, Sept. 12 with a final score of 185-228. The Tigers conclude their preseason on a two match losing streak and with a 4-2 record. 

Shooting sub 40, sophomore Lauren Calderon led the Tigers with a score of 38. Following Calderon, senior Victoria Tskvitichvili shot for 41 strokes while sophomores Maya Turun and Audrey Biggar both ended the match with scores of 49. Sophomore Cassy Huang and junior Katherine Anthony both had a score of 51. 

“Walnut was super competitive and good,” Tskvitichvili said. “We feel really confident going into [league] next week.”  

The Tigers will begin the season next week with their first league game against Gabrielino on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
