Girls’ golf blows by Polytechnic

The girls’ golf team took home their second preseason win against Polytechnic on Thursday, Aug. 29. With consistently low scores across the board, the Tigers easily defeated the Panthers.

Shooting sub 40, sophomore Lauren Calderon had an impressive performance tallying only 38 strokes. Senior Victoria Tskvitichvili and sophomore Cassy Huang kept close with 40 strokes each. Following shortly, junior Katherine Anthony and sophomore Maya Turun had respective scores of 44 and 46 strokes. 

“We really improved and after winning our first two games, I’m really excited for the rest of the season,” Turun said. 

The Tigers will face Mayfield for their third game on Tuesday, Sep. 3.
