Dance Ensemble demonstrated its talent on Monday, December 14 at lunch. The short routine served as a preview for the group’s first show of the school year, Dance Ability, which will take place tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the SPHS Auditorium with performances by Dance Ensemble and Ms Cheney’s Dance P.E. classes.

At lunch, the group performed one song, “All About that Bass” by Meghan Trainor. However, Dance Ability will feature a variety of choreographies to songs such as “Hunter” by Pharrell Williams.

Preparations for Dance Ability started as early as the second week of the school year, when auditions were held. In the days leading up to tonight, practices ran as late as 7 p.m. as the girls perfected their routines during technique rehearsals.

“I’m really excited. We’ve been working really hard,” Dance Ensemble captain senior Emily Armstrong said. “The team is mostly new people, so it’s been a lot of hard work to get everything together, but I think it’ll be fun.”
