Police engaged in a stolen car chase off the 110 freeway into South Pasadena Monday night. The suspect, an alleged gang-runner, was apprehended near the corner of Magnolia Street and Orange Grove Avenue at roughly 9:40 p.m.

At 9:20 p.m., LAPD attempted to pull over the suspect’s vehicle on Hill Street in Downtown LA. The police, unable to stop the vehicle, pursued the suspect onto the 110 freeway, eventually exiting at Orange Grove. The suspect then abandoned the stolen vehicle on Magnolia Street, fleeing northbound on Prospect on foot. After tiring, the alleged gang-runner attempted to hide behind brush, but was captured and arrested by officers Guillermo Espinoza and Roberto Requena (Los Angeles County Police Department Central Division).

The two officers found shaved keys on the suspect, furthering suspicion of vehicle theft. No residents or officers were harmed, and the suspect will be placed under questioning.
