The boys’ varsity soccer team crushed Blair High School at home, by a score of 5-0, on Friday, January 15. With this victory, the Tigers are now 1-1 in Rio Hondo League play and 3-5-1 overall.

The Tigers’ dominance was apparent straight out of the gate as South Pas dominated offensively. Freshman striker Raymond Yeo got the Tigers on the board with a shot from inside the keeper’s box to make the score 1-0. South Pas continued to pressure the Blair defense and eventually scored another goal. Sophomore striker Noah Millhollin added to the lead with a well placed shot, assisted by senior midfielder Seiji Sasaki. The Tigers would soon make the score 3-0 when Millhollin would tack on an additional goal. Along with great offense, the Tigers were dominant on defense as senior defenders Tim Hitchcock and Ian Geiberger kept the Blair strikers in check by foiling the majority of their runs. The half would conclude in the Tigers’ favor by a score of 3-0.

Sophomore midfielder Niko Tripodis gave the Tigers an additional cushion with a final goal to make the score 5-0. The game would conclude at the same score of 5-0.
