South Pasadena badminton defeated the Mark Keppel Aztecs 12-9 on Monday, April 7.
The Tigers won two out of four games in Mixed Doubles. Both duos, senior Anson Fong and senior Kiana Lee, and junior Kyle Zhan and senior Eva Wu, won and lost a matchup; all matches were decided in two sets. In Mixed Doubles Break Point, freshman Harry Ao and junior Wings Zhang won after three sets.

In Girls Singles, Lee won one match in two sets. In Girls Doubles, four out of the four games went to South Pasadena. Wu and freshman Jasmine Fu swept one of their rounds, winning in two sets 21-11 and 21-12. Sophomore Batia Lou and freshman Emily Huang won one match in three sets and the other in two.


Zhan won both of his Boys Singles games in two sets, but Ao lost both matches to the Aztecs. In Boys Doubles, the Tigers won two games; Fong and senior Ryan Wong, and junior Toby Gu and senior Jake Wong, each winning and losing a match. The overall score totaled to 12-9, a win for the Tigers.
Badminton will play an away game at Arcadia on Monday, April 14.
