The South Pasadena High School varsity badminton team was handed its second straight loss on Friday, March 18 by the San Gabriel Matadors on the road. The Matadors proved to be too much for the Tigers to handle, and cruised to an 18-3 victory.

The Tigers were already at a disadvantage coming into the game. San Gabriel, a Division 1 team, was far more competitive than Division 2 South Pasadena, and this difference in refined skill clearly showed on the court. The Tigers were unable to generate any momentum, and the Matadors relentlessly piled on the points.

South Pasadena’s record currently stands at 1-2 on the season. The team hopes to snap out of its two game losing streak in its next match, which will take place on Tuesday, March 22, at home against Mark Keppel High School.
