Girls’ tennis was bested by the La Cañada Spartans at home.

On Wednesday, Sep. 16, girls’ tennis fell short against the La Cañada Spartans, 13–5.

This game was the teams’ first non-league home match of the season. With only nine returning players from last season, the Tigers’ have several new players. 

“Our team has changed the most since last season,” sophomore captain Linnea Wong said. “This is a large year of growth for our team.” 

Wong won all three of her sets, 6–0, 6–1, and 6–1 respectively.

“La Cañada has always been a strong program,” head coach Alex Muresan said. “We played them the last three seasons. I think we had two really great seasons recently, and today was just another good challenge for us to see if we could continue playing our best.”

The Tigers’ following match was held the next day, on Thursday, Sep. 17 at 3:30 p.m. The game, against the Barristers, took place at Marshall High School in Pasadena.
