The Tournament of Roses Queen and Court Committee announced the princesses of the 2015 Royal Court at the Wrigley Mansion in Pasadena on October 6.

The princesses are: Bergen Onufer, Mayfield Senior School; Madison Triplet, John Marshall Fundamental High School; Simona Shao, Westridge School; Gabrielle Current, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy; Mackenzie Byers, Pasadena City College; Veronica Mejia, Pasadena City College and Emily Stoker, Temple City High School.

The queen of the Rose Court will be announced at a special coronation ceremony on October 21.

The seven princesses, chosen from a pool of 31 finalists, will represent the Pasadena community in over 100 events leading up to the 126th Rose Parade on January 1

SPHS seniors Isabella Martinez, Alisha Mehdi, and Karina Safouri represented South Pasadena High School as finalists after being selected from an initial group of 700 candidates.

“I was so excited that there were three finalists from SPHS, after not having a princess from our school for so many years,” senior Alisha Mehdi said. “There are so many diverse and well-rounded people in South Pas, and I want to encourage all of the younger girls to try out because this was a great experience.”
