SPHS celebrated school spirit and promoted the annual Powerpuff game
with variety of class competitions at the Tiger Spirit assembly Friday, Mar. 8. Commissioner of Assemblies senior Flannery Clark led students in a series of activities pitting each of the four classes against each other in a battle for “spirit points.”
Commissioner of Noontime senior Nico Salazar brought back “Wheel of Trivia Feud,” quizzing contestants’ knowledge in categories such as “Milk,” “Anime,” and “What’s in the mystery box?” Other activities included “Guess that Meme,” a version of pictionary with memes led by Commissioner of Internal Affairs senior Caleb Waters and Commissioner of Correspondence senior Kyra Angkasa.
Apart from class competitions, Varsity and JV Pep preformed and Commissioner of Athletics senior Jack Sanders introduced the spring sport captains. Angkasa and Waters closed out the assembly with a competition between the senior and junior Powerpuff captains, who were interviewed while eating chicken nuggets with hot sauce. The seniors ultimately emerged victorious, but the overall purpose was to get to know the captains better.
Commissioner of School and Community senior Akash Rathi took to the stage to promote SPHS’ annual Pennies for Patients fundraiser. Students can donate during their fourth period class to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society until Wednesday, Mar. 13.
