Waves of orange and black covered the SPHS campus Friday, Sept. 28 for the school’s most high-spirit event of the year, Color Day. Students and faculty exhibited costumes ranging from first-place senior group, “La Croix Boys,” to the history department’s winning “Notorious RBG Supreme Court Justices.”

Commissioner of Assemblies senior Flannery Clark led the festivities, adding new spins to traditional competitions with a Mario Kart-themed race between the schools. Sophomores (Class of 2021) emerged victorious in both class competitions — tug-of-war and an object find — while the senior Class of 2019 took best class banner for a 1990’s-inspired design in orange and black.

The assembly concluded with the introduction of the 2018 Homecoming theme, “This is SP(HS)ARTA: when Tigers and gods collide.”
