The music program hosted their annual fundraiser Spaghetti Dinner Night on Thursday, March 6, filling the school gym with live music, food, and conversation. Guests were served spaghetti, salad, cake, and a variety of drinks while listening to a total of 29 live songs throughout the night, including a closing Winter Guard performance. The fundraiser also held a silent auction which parents could bid on. A variety of items were auctioned, including gift cards, meals, and manga.

Guests entered through the side doors of the gym. Students, staff, and kids paid 10 dollars, while parents paid 25 dollars. Tables and chairs were arranged in three rows inside the gym. The auction was stationed to the right, the food at the back, and the performances to the left.

“Spaghetti Dinner Night is not only one of our biggest fundraisers, but also a great opportunity for the community to come together to support Band,” senior flutist Chaemin Lim said. “Another benefit is that the music we produce for Spaghetti Dinner Night is very different from the other performances we have … playing in these smaller groups allows us to learn more as musicians.”

The event began in 1992 as a typical concert and has since grown into a dinner fundraiser for Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Orchestra students. Dozens of students, parents, teachers, and alumni volunteer every year to elevate the experience of attendees.

“I hope that our audience enjoyed the music that our students worked hard for and enjoyed the time they spent at our event,” Lim said. “I hope that our event this year was an experience that can encourage them to come again next year.”
