Senior Alexa Chang, the founder and general chair of Entrepreneurship Launchpad, hosted the first spring entrepreneurship workshop of 2026 from the morning of Saturday, March 7 in the SPHS cafeteria.

Members of the launchpad participated in various activities, such as purposely pitching bad product ideas. Pitches included ketchup-flavored popsicles and built-in-gravel shoes.

Students had the opportunity to listen to a talk by Eva Ho in person, a prominent entrepreneur and co-founder of several startups and nonprofit organizations, including Fika Ventures. Then, they were able to develop their own ideas and passions into creative business ideas.

“I want to show [people] that entrepreneurship is just turning whatever you care about into something real and impactful for people in the community … I hope that it will leave them excited and feeling inspired to pursue their passions and make an impact for other people,” Chang said.

In 2023, Chang started her own app with her brother, sophomore Brett Chang, called Fruitful, which helped turn excess fruit into funds for the community. She hopes that with Entrepreneurship Launchpad, students will take inspiration and start their own businesses as well.

The workshop ended with a mini competition that included prizes for the winners.
