South Pasadena Arts & Music Academy (SPAMA) is hosting its annual $10 Lesson Week from Sunday, Feb. 8 to Saturday, Feb. 14. Aimed to help the South Pasadena Educational Foundation (SPEF), the community fundraiser offers introductory music lessons (limited to instruments offered) and donates 100 percent of the proceeds directly to SPEF.
Participants may take an introductory group, ensemble or private, 30 minute lessons for $10 through the fundraising event. Usually, the music lessons cost $45. Additionally, if one enrolls, they will be given 50 percent off on the annual registration fee and 20 percent off through February and March.
The week starts off with a free “Musical Petting Zoo” on Friday, Feb. 7 from 5 pm to 7 pm in collaboration with South Pasadena Arts Crawl. The petting zoo allows hands-on experience that involves children and families to touch and hold instruments. The event is additionally run by the aid of teachers. Additionally, participants will be able to play instruments as well.
New enrollments for students for $10 Lesson Week begins on Monday, Feb. 16. Students are able to sign up by contacting (626) 808-4031 or emailing Staff@ArtsMusicAcademy.com.
