The South Pasadena High School girls varsity basketball team had control of this game vs. Temple City Rams starting in the 2nd quarter.
After the first quarter, it was a tight game as the Tigers led by a slim margin of 12-10 over Temple City. Then, once the second quarter came, the Tigers increased their lead from 2 points to 20 points, outscoring Temple City 26-8 in the second quarter.
After the second, the Tigers had no trouble winning the game by a landslide of 75-35 as they went on to outscore Temple City 37-17 in the second half to win the game by 40 points.
Late in the 4th quarter, with 2:51 left in the game, #54, Sophia Hathaway of the Tigers appeared to sustain a right leg injury. After the play was completed, she remained on the floor for about 3 minutes as coaches surrounded her. She would not return to the game as she was helped by coaches to the bench.
The Tigers came in to the game as the favorites with a record of 13-1, (2-0 league play) and improved to 14-1 overall, (3-0 league play), as the Temple City Rams came into the game with a record of just 8-8, (1-0 league play), and dropped to a record of 8-9 overall, (1-1 league play). With the win, the Tigers stayed in the top spot in the standings with both league record (3-0), and are looking to remain up top for the rest of the season and get into the playoffs.
