Under the eyes of friends and family, The SPHS Class of 2017 celebrated their graduation in a final ceremony on Friday, June 9th. Seniors assembled together one last time as a class on the SPHS field before going on to further achievements in their respective next destinations.

Familiar performer Cindy Tsai opened the ceremony with her final rendition of the national anthem before senior class president Katherine Conte welcomed attendees. Seniors Faye Witherall, Adianna Paul, and Jisu Kim addressed their peers in speeches on their futures and the world beyond, reminiscing on their time at SPHS.

“These four years have been a wild ride, but I am grateful for every second of it,” senior class vice president Anissa Santos said. “I am so glad that we were able to end senior year on such a high note at the graduation.”

Before the commemorative event concluded, senior class treasurer presented the class gift: new microphones and stands and a wifi-compatible sound system. With tosses of their caps, the class of 2017 walked off to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” a last farewell to SPHS.
